Dreams of winning two Championship games on the bounce remain just that.
After the thrilling last-gasp win against Derby County, courtesy of an own-goal, it was an own-goal by Donervon Daniels that took Luton Town down a familiar path yesterday at the Hawthorns.
The Hatters, under the stewardship of Graeme Jones, lost their 20th Championship game of the season, out of 30 games played, while also conceding their 64th and 65th goals of what is fast turning into a horrific Championship season.
Some 7 points clear of safety, the odds-on Luton Town being a Championship side, next season, are lengthening by the game.
Naturally, after another defeat, social media wasn’t the most positive of places last night with the Hatters support lamenting another three points lost:
Normal services have resumed…

Glad to have helped WBA correct their winless run.

But lurking among the numerous posts and considering that the Hatters can’t get an away win for love of money, was a novel idea:
Just need to concentrate on winning EVERY home game. May as well play the under 18s away and just give our players a longer break

Here at Vital Luton Town though we’re pretty sure that won’t happen.
But, putting the defeat into perspective, we stumbled across this post:
The players gave everything today. Sluga made one world class save. We have to appreciate the quality of the opposition sometimes. Look who we were playing 5 years ago. I am proud to be a Luton supporter after seeing the performance today

A very fair point.
But, deep down, there is still this nagging suspicion that Graeme Jones just isn’t the right man for the job, a suspicion that is sees further fuel added to the fire by a post from a West Bromwich Albion supporter:
feel bad for you lot, jonesball is awful

Yes, sometimes it is and sometimes it is hard to remain positive but, with 48 points still to play for we have to believe we can pull off the improbable still.
COYH’s.
