Former Luton Player Hits The Big Time

With the regular Championship season now behind us, we’re at the stage of the year whereby international football takes centre stage.

The 2022 World Cup, in Qatar, is fast approaching and the various national team managers will be using the forthcoming, summer, fixtures to cast an eye over the players likely to make the final squads.

Naturally with the tournament not opening until October 2022, there is still time for late inclusions.

Yesterday, Gareth Southgate named a squad of 27 players for the forthcoming games against Hungary, Germany and Italy.

Among the players named, and for the first time, was our very own James Justin.

James was on the verge of an international call-up last season, but a bad knee injury temporarily curtailed those dreams.

It is testament to James’s attitude and skills that he has fought back and now has a chance to showcase his skills on the international stage.

Competition for places in Southgate’s starting XI will be fierce but, here at Vital Luton Town, we’d imagine that having been called up, James will be given an opportunity to shine.

I’m sure you’ll join me in congratulating James on his latest achievement.

But, as an aside, can you recall the last Luton born player to grace the international stage with England?
