When you have ambitions to get back into the Football League then I guess a win is a win.
Sometimes, how you arrive at the three points becomes somewhat immaterial.
Yesterday may well have been such a game with gallant Bath proving to be more than capable opposition.
After the game, Gary Brabin had a few words to say about the performance, commenting to the local media,
“I can only apologise but I don`t think you ca go to any football ground in the world and be guaranteed to perform well every week. That`s no excuse.”
“First and foremost we are delighted we`ve won and got the three points and kept another clean sheet.”
“But it was almost as if it was going to be too easy when we scored the first goal.”
“I thought we stopped the good habits we are trying to instil in the team and we looked sloppy because of it.”
“A lot has been made about Bath being bottom of the league. Whether that gets into the players head I don`t know, but you can`t disrespect anyone.”
No need to be quite so apologetic Gary, like I said, sometimes just getting the three points is sufficient reward.
