Better the Devil You Know?

Some managers have this habit of buying players they`ve managed at previous clubs.

It`s a ploy that sometimes pays dividends but on other occasions can drown in a sea of loyalty.

Luton supporters will be hoping that it is a case of the former when it comes to Scott Rendell.

Rendell, signed along with Jon Shaw in a busy midweek period for Luton, has played under Paul Buckle at both Torquay and Bristol Rovers.

Speaking about linking up with Buckle again, Scott has told a local newspaper,

“I`ve known Bucks for a couple of years and we have a good working relationship, as well as getting on well of the field. I kept in touch with him last season at Bristol Rovers and when he was out of work.”

“He`s a good manager, a good tactician and he likes to play attacking football, which as a striker I like to do as well. I think his style of football suits me.”

“Ever since the manager took over last season you can see they have been doing well and I can`t see Luton still being in this league beyond next season.”

We`d like to think so Scott, life in the Conference is sort of depressing when you can recall the Hatters playing at the top table of English football. As for Bucks (as you affectionately call him) , our only gripe is that we couldn`t have got him to Kenilworth Road earlier!

Like we`ve probably said before, welcome to Kenilworth Road Scott and we hope your stay is a damn fine one!
