The arrival of Paul Benson, from Swindon Town, has given Luton another option up front.

The 33 year-old has experience of being involved in a Conference winning campaign having played for Dagenham when John Still led the Essex side into the Football League.

In that season Benson netted 28 times and Hatters fans will be hoping he can replicate that form.

Benson, speaking to the local media, has ambitions of playing for Luton in the Football League and has spoken about why he decided to drop back down into the Conference when he could have opted for life elsewhere,

“I had to make a decision on do I want to stick around League One for a year or so and not know what my future would be?”

“Or do I want to go and link up again with the gaffer, who`s given me my best memories and get involved in this project with Luton to try and help get them up?”

“I`d be a liar if I said it (dropping down) wasn`t an issue. No-one wants to drop down divisions, they all want to play as high as they can.”

“But sometimes you`ve got to look at the bigger picture. I thought, in two years time I could still be a League player with Luton Town.”

Two years? I`m looking towards next year!
