Back in the Fold!

It`s great to see that our lengthy injury list is finally being reduced.

Yesterday, against Kidderminster, both Shane Blackett and George Pilkington returned to the starting eleven.

After the deserved win, George explained how he wasn`t sure he was playing, commenting,

“The team was named at quarter to two and nobody knew who would be playing.”

“There were 19 or 20 of us that travelled so, as you do as players, you`re working out who is going to be in and who is going to be out. I was just pleased to get my first 90 minutes under my belt since May and I`ll see how I recover over the next couple of days.”

“I wasn`t sure if I was going to be starting or not, but you`re prepared to play if you get called upon and that`s what happened today.”

“I find it very frustrating sitting in the stands watching the lads play because you want to be out there contributing to the success of the club.”

“It`s nice to be back, and a win away to a team who are going very well in the league is very pleasing.”

It`s strange how so many players are poor spectators. But returning to yesterday, George reflected further on the game but bemoaned the fact the defence couldn`t keep a clean sheet, adding,

“The lads worked exceptionally hard today and they had to because Kidderminster were a tough opposition.”

“They came at us second half, but we defended pretty well and took our chances.”

“We`re disappointed not to keep a clean sheet, but obviously the result and the three points are brilliant and it puts us in good stead fro Tuesday night.”

A third win on the trot, this Tuesday, would be just dandy!
