An open letter to LLSC

Kev

I am concerned that LLSC is like a dinosaur on this issue. If you offered fans a choice between staying at KR and selling our star player every season, which is what we face just to cope with the losses, or a move to a spanking new ground at J12 or J10 or J11 with much better facilities, loads of parking, and enough opportunities for the Club to break even and actually buy some decent players, then I don’t think there is much choice, and the fans would support the move.

The key debate is about whether J12 is the best choice. And to understand this then the key issue is, as always, money. Whether we prefer J12 or not, Cliff Bassett has given the Club the opportunity to own the freehold to a 30 acre complex, with £25m towards the build, plus ownership of the stadium naming rights. As a package that it something like £50m. Yes I am sure that Cliff will make a bob or two from the other 220 acres, but has anyone else offered Luton a penny, let alone £50m, to build at another site?

£50m is a lot of money, and would transform the Club. Check this article https://luton.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=52283

to see what the vision actually is, and compare how that would position us against the rest of the Championship teams – new ground, larger fanbase, higher income, no debt, rental income from the hotel and commercial events, plus a cash injection too.

Get your heads out of the sand guys – the steamroller is coming.

Regards

Martin
