Don’t you just love a late winner, they remove all memories of how poor a game it might have been in a tide of jubilation.
Last night, down at Kenilworth Road, I thought we had witnessed just such a thing.
Some poor finishing, by both sides, had provided a game that won’t live long in the memory, but when Sonny Bradley netted, right at the end, I am sure I wasn’t alone in jumping up and down and thinking we had secured the three points.
Sadly, it wasn’t to be with the match officials deeming that Bradley had committed a foul before scoring.
To me it looked a little harsh and talking to the local media, as reported by The BBC, Nathan Jones was of the same view with the gaffer remarking about the incident:
“There was nothing wrong with that goal – it’s probably a safe decision right at the end so that neither side loses it – it’s a terrible decision.”
Indeed, I thought it was and so did this poster on social media:
The goal should of stood. Bradley was getting fouled not the other way round. Another rubbish referee.
