Leyton Orient reserves gave the table topping Hatters reserves a good work out at Kenilworth Road this afternoon.

A strong looking Town team containing Bell, Holmes, Barnett and Showunmi were made to work hard for their result. Looking lack-lustre in the first half, the Hatters were second best and despite Danny Stevens drawing a good save out of Orient keeper Glenn Morris, they rarely threatened, while the lively Ibehre had two gilt edged chances to open the scoring for the away side, but failed on each occasion.

Luton came out with a little more conviction in the second half but, ironically, went behind to a Jabo Ibehre strike. Ibehre beat Asafu-Adjaye and drove the ball smartly past Dean Brill in the 49th minute.

However, in the 56th minute Peter Holmes saw his shot come back off the keeper to where Ryan Charles was lurking, and he slipped the loose ball into the net for the equaliser.

The winner came around 74 minutes, when Enoch Showunmi clipped the ball across the face of goal and Ryan Charles nipped across a defender to touch the ball home for his second of the afternoon, only to see himself substituted immediately afterwards!

Luton Town Reserves: Brill, Selby (Kenneford 84′), Mountford, Holmes, Asafu-Adjaye, Barnett, Bell, Stevens, Charles (Harrison-Barker 76′), Showunmi, Osborne-Ricketts (Sinclair 58′)

Leyton Orient Reserves: Morris, Demetriou, Tann, Fyfield, Palmer, Tudor, Barnard, McMahon, Duncan, Ibehre, Wallis (Matthews 75′)
