Luton’s Showunmi exits

Enoch Showunmi has signed for Bristol City in a two year deal today.

Mike Newell has spoken of his frustration in trying to resign the player in the face of Enoch’s agent’s input. Newell had claimed that the agent was the stumbling block.

Showunmi has failed to build on the success he enjoyed in the two years ahead of Luton’s promotion to the Championship and was only a bit-part player last season. The signs were that he would not make it as a regular in the side at this level.

His exit will free up wages to assist in Newell’s attempts to strengthen the side in the summer.
