Luton – Would You Buy Our On Loan Keeper Is The Big Question

Signed, on loan, in the January transfer window, from Aston Villa, Jed Steer is already proving to be a sound investment.

With Simon Sluga gone and James Shea between the posts, a recent article, on Vital Luton Town, covered the fact that when asked – luton-support-give-hatters-keeper-vote-of-confidence – they believed that Shea should keep his place between the posts with Steer on the bench.

But after one indifferent performance by Shea, in a fixture the Hatters lost, Nathan decided to switch the duo and the Hatters haven’t looked back since.

Steer has stepped into the breach and has, in 4 games managed to keep 3 clean sheets, although, in fairness, the defence should also get their fair share of the praise due.

Indeed, Steer’s displays between the sticks have not gone unnoticed by the Hatters support on social media:

The one-handed save, against Derby County, was, in my view, the difference between a win and a loss but as for signing Steer, on a permanent basis, is that an option?

I’m not privy to the details of the loan deal and I have no idea if Aston Villa would be happy to sell him, or, indeed, at what price, but on the basis of what we’ve seen so far, even though Nathan Jones has implied he wants to sign a younger keeper, we could do far worse than buy Steer.
