Luton v Gatehead Preview

After the disappointment of the other night, Luton have good a chance to get back to winning ways with a home fixture against Gateshead.

Being 2-0 up with fifteen minutes to go, against a team who have been struggling for form, and then being pegged back to 2-2 with an injury time equalizer; is always a bitter pill to swallow.

But perhaps we should look at it in another way, perhaps a return of four points out of six from two away games is the sort of away form we should be looking for.

Gateshead, at Kenilworth Road, will be a tough proposition but it`s a fixture that you`d expect Luton to play well in with our star striker, from the midweek game, Amari Morgan-Smith, summing it up rather nicely, proclaiming,

“I said to Cards (Paul Carden) we seem to play better against the stronger teams.”

Well I`d like to think so.

Furthermore, the Hatters could be boosted by the return of three midfielders, three who form the basis of our first choice midfield, with Gary Brabin commenting ahead of the fixture,

“On Saturday we`ve got our midfield three back, Jake Howells, Keith Keane and we will see about Alex Lawless.”

“We`ve got light at the end of tunnel in terms of players coming back.”

Indeed it is good to see so many coming back, last week it was Shane Blackett and George Pilkington and we`re getting to the stage where, heavens above, Gary Brabin might have to make some tricky decisions about who to leave out.

Continuing to discuss our position in the league, Brabin has remarked,

“I keep telling people the league isn`t won or lost in the first fifteen games.”

It probably isn`t but a win against Gateshead tomorrow would set us up nicely for the coming weeks would it not!
