This weekend the Hatters welcome Newcastle United, to Kenilworth Road, for a crucial Premier League fixture.
As is the norm, I’ve sat down and done my best to compile a ‘They Played for Both’ article.
I say I’ve done my best because after several hours of contemplation, my starting XI (plus substitute) is full of holes.
It is almost as if playing for both Luton Town and Newcastle United is a taboo subject.
Now, previously, on the odd occasion, I’ve had to ask for help to fill one or two vacant positions in articles related to this series, but as can be seen from below, I need your help to fill a massive SIX places:
Goalkeeper – Tim Krul
Defender –
Defender –
Defender –
Defender –
Midfielder – Alex Gilliead
Midfielder –
Midfielder –
Striker – Viv Busby
Striker – Malcolm MacDonald
Striker – Mick Harford
Substitute – Imre Varadi
So, can you assist?
Can you provide the names of any others that fit the criteria?
If so, simply drop their names into the comment facility beneath this article and we’ll see if we can actually get a complete stating XI (plus substitute).

Gordon Hindson played for both clubs in the early/mid 70s. He was a somewhat ineffectual, midfield player IIRC.
