With time running out for Luton Town to get out of the relegation places, Rob Edwards must be going through a torrid time.

It was always going to be a hard task to retain our Premier League status but has a manager ever had to operate with a squad so depleted by injuries to key players at such a vital time in the season?

Yesterday was a classic example of the luck that has befallen us with Rob having to compile a starting XI with the squad already down to its bare bones and then losing Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu to injury.

But despite all the misfortune coming our way, Rob refuses to give up the fight and after the dramatic 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, yesterday, in his post-match interview to the BBC, the gaffer had this to say:

“There is no other option than to keep going and keep fighting.”

“We’ll never give up, we’ll always keep going. They’re a special, special group.”

Indeed they are, despite our current predicament, the enthusiasm to grab some reward from an apparent lost cause remains as strong as ever. There is a never-say-die attitude that separates us from other clubs and it is a commendable trait.

Continuing, Rob covered the events of Wednesday evening and yesterday, adding:

“To be 3-0 up and lose the game midweek was tough for us all, so to come back in such a big game – and for Luke Berry, who has now scored in every league, to get that equaliser is a really special moment for him and this football club.”

It was, I feared the worse after the Hatters somehow threw away that 3-0 lead to lose 4-3 at the Vitality Stadium, but that commendable spirit I previously mentioned, continues to shine through and the roar when Luke Berry netted the equaliser was an indication of the relief, inside Kenilworth Road, that avoiding the drop is still a distinct possibility and our fate is still in our own hands.

But, I’ll finish this scribe with a word about Luke Berry’s remarkable achievement of scoring in all our top flight divisions for Luton Town, a remarkable achievement, but what I want to know is Luke unique in doing this or has someone, at another club, matched this feat?
