With a plethora of players out on loan, I try to keep abreast of how they are doing.

But, in doing so, it has become patently clear that one, a certain Joseph Taylor, is the one that continues to grab the most headlines.

Joe, who stated the season, in League 2, with Colchester United is now plying his trade in League 1 with Lincoln City, having moved up a division at the bequest of the Hatters hierarchy in the January transfer window.

The move up a division has, however, done little to stall Joe’s scoring prowess.

Joe left struggling Colchester United having scored 8 goals and with a further 2 assists to his name and since joining Lincoln City Joe has notched another 12 goals again with 2 assists to his name.

But, in doing so, Joe, as the season starts to hit the home straight, holds something of a unique position, he is, halfway through March, the top goalscorer at both clubs, quite an acheivement considering he left Colchester United in January and has had less than three months of game time with Lincoln City.

A total of 20 goals already is a decent achievement and there is every chance he could, come the end of the season, end up around the 25 goal mark, for the season.

Surfing social media, one point of view commonly expressed relates to, with the Hatters current predicament, Joe being allowed out on loan, but it has to be pointed out, back in August, Joe was someway down the pecking order and the Luton Town hierarchy obviously felt the young striker needed regular football to nurture his obvious talents.

Like they say, hindsight is a wonderful thing but the obvious conclusion to this article is that Joe is doing everything in his power to ensure he is part of the Hatters squad next season, whether that be in the Premier League or the EFL Championship!
