As we all hoped for, our midfielder, Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, made history on Saturday afternoon, at Brighton.

The 29-year-old became the first player ever to appear for the same club in the top five divisions of English football – The Conference, League Two, League One, Championship and the Premier League.

It is a record that may never be equalled, let alone beaten and it is an achievement that Pelly, quite rightly, can be extremely proud of.

It was notable, last season, that once Rob Edwards took over the managerial position, following on from Nathan Jones departure, Pelly’s game improved and some of those that had, previously, knocked Pelly began to understand just what he brought to the team, when completely injury free.

On Saturday, at the American Express Stadium, Pelly needed to up his game once more, with the Premier League being a challenge for everyone associated with Luton Town Football Club.

At times he looked impressive but it should also be mentioned that, at times, he faded from the action.

Unfortunately, Pelly made a crucial error when it came to Brighton’s third goal.

Instead of, hoofing it clear and hitting row Z, he tried something different in the danger area which ended up being the perfect chipped pass for Addringa to shoot past Thomas Kaminski in the Hatters goal.

Pelly, knowing exactly what he had done wrong, held his head in his hands.

But, everybody makes mistakes, the essential thing is to learn from them.

Now I’m not going to judge Pelly on one Premier League game, he, and everyone else, deserves better after what they have done for the club.

Instead, let’s all congratulate Pelly on his remarkable history making achievement.

This for many in the team was a first taste of prem football and it showed in nerves by many no one person was at fault it was a poor team performance by everyone. It wasn’t a we are underdogs so we’ll show them game like previous encounters when in league 1or 2 or championship team. This was we are now equal an the nerves got the better of us. So let’s not pick out any individual it was a team failure.

couldn’t agree more Chris, just a shame it is a two-week wait until we take on Chelsea although after a ropey start, Chelsea looked good yesterday, will be a tough fixture.

Maybe we should add that coaching staff may have to take some of the blame for changing the style to quickly.
