It has been a strange couple of weeks what with this, so-called, Premier League winter break.
I’m not sure it should be classified as a break or more of a stutter.
With the idea being that clubs should get a break, I thought it would be a complete break, not half the teams playing one weekend and the other half playing the following weekend.
Naturally, things didn’t run smoothly with the break interrupted by hastily re-arranged FA Cup replays and it came as no surprise that several teams, including Luton Town, opted to take what is wonderfully described as a ‘warm weather’ break with the Hatters heading to Dubai, although I’m reliably informed the destination wasn’t as warm as many would have expected.
But it is all over now with football returning en-masse this weekend with the magic of the FA Cup taking centre stage.
The Hatters, as we all know, take on Everton in a FA Cup 4th round tie, a tie where circa 3,000 supporters will travel to the north-west hoping their side can achieve a second win at Goodison Park this season and thereby take a huge step towards a Wembley appearance.
But, getting back to the crux of this article, I’d like to know your thoughts on the idea of this split break.
Do you approve of it or would you prefer a straight break similar to that which occurs when we have one of those infernal international breaks?
The floor is all yours!

Everton v Luton Town (FA Cup 4th Round)?
Everton to Win!
Luton to Win!

Straight break for me mh, interesting to see that Giles could be loaned to hull with an 4.25 million option to buy a loss or money back lol with undisclosed fee coming into it ?
I think he could be on his way!
there are so many different competitions that players are obliged to compete in. not only domestic but international as well. maybe we shouldnt have any break at all. i am all for breaks for players to recover and relax, but how do you keep everbody happy. ?. COYH.
Not a fan of the break , but for the Hatters with the squad depth that we have it is probably a good thing
Also, feel sorry for giles , with doughtys form, not many players could take his place.COYH.
I don’t care for this half-hearted break. It just seems a mess with a game here and there, which just detracts from the impetus of the season. For me, a clear break or none at all.
As for Giles, he hasn’t really managed to make a strong case for being in the side, so if we can get our money back perhaps we should.
