On Wednesday 15th March, the Hatters welcome Bristol City, to Kenilworth Road, for a crucial EFL Championship fixture.
Back in April 2021, Vital Luton Town published an article covering those players who had played for both clubs – they-played-for-both-luton-bristol-city
The starting XI (plus substitute) I settled on can be found below:
• Goalkeeper – Nathan Abbey
• Defender – Richard Dryden
• Defender – Sean Dyche
• Defender – Marvin Harriott
• Defender – Alfie Mawson
• Midfielder – Mark Aizlewood
• Midfielder – Michael McIndoe
• Midfielder – Joe Morrell
• Striker – Calvin Andrew
• Striker – Mick Harford
• Striker – Chris Martin
• Substitute – Tony Thorpe
Our normal plea for you to provide the names of other players who fitted the qualifying criteria, proved to be fruitful with the following names nominated:
• Enoch Showunmi
• Adam Locke
• Julian Watts
Which gave me food for thought, but since the article was published there have been further dealings between the two clubs involving:
• Kal Naismith
• Harry Cornick
Naturally this has provided further food for thought and I’ve revised my starting XI (plus substitute) so it now reads as thus:
• Goalkeeper – Nathan Abbey
• Defender – Kal Naismith
• Defender – Sean Dyche
• Defender – Marvin Harriott
• Defender – Julian Watts
• Midfielder – Mark Aizlewood
• Midfielder – Michael McIndoe
• Midfielder – Joe Morrell
• Striker – Harry Cornick
• Striker – Mick Harford
• Striker – Chris Martin
• Substitute – Tony Thorpe
Now I believe the changes have strengthened the side, but is it a view you concur with?
