There will be no football for Hatters fans today with the game away to Coventry City having been postponed earlier this week.

The postponement meant that the last FOUR Championship games, for Luton, have suffered this fate and in an article, we posted earlier this week – supporters-views-on-fourth-covid-fixture-postponement – we covered the fears that the postponement could provide the Hatters with a very congested fixture list, this has now become the case.

The announcements that new dates have been found for the games away to reading and at hoe to Bristol City means that January has now become a very testing month, as can be seen from the fixture list:

• Sunday 09-Jan – Harrogate Town (FA Cup)
• Saturday 15-Jan – AFC Bournemouth (h)
• Wednesday 19-Jan – Reading (a)
• Saturday 22-Jan – Sheffield United (a)
• Tuesday 25-Jan – Bristol City (h)
• Saturday 29-Jan – Blackburn Rovers (h)

The schedule may start gently, with only 2 games in the first 15 days but then Luton hit a period whereby they will play 4 games in just 10/11 days.

Also, we should consider that it may be subject to change, the Harrogate fixture may fall victim to the COVID pandemic with the Yorkshire sides latest fixture being postponed for that very reason.

And then, of course, there is the weather!

Although we’ve just had the mildest New Years Eve on record, we all know just how changeable our climate is and who is to say there isn’t an influx of snow just around the corner!

The only thing that is certain about the fixture list is its uncertainty.
