Last night, I had high hopes that the Hatters would take all three points in their Championship clash with Queens Park Rangers.
But it wasn’t to be!
The Hatters, in my opinion, played well enough but failed to take the chances that came their way.
Instead, we were left to rue two moments of misfortune.
The first came when, from our own corner, we were beaten all-ends up on the break with Wilcock lobbing Sluga as the game swept from end to end and then Austin headed home from a dead-ball situation which, I believe, should have been awarded our way.
But the XI on the pitch never gave up, sadly it was one of those nights when the chances created were not taken.
Delving onto social media, the posts below sum up how the night went:
But we also had more possession 🙃 played some good football though at times

and
Everything apart from score. Just a shame that is the objective of football. Aesthetic table and possession table and we rocking 😎😎

And
Could have played until midnight and still wouldn’t have scored.

But whilst I was happy with the performance, apart from the lack of goals and the result, others were not:
Horrible performance. Lost to another team that hasnt played well but took their chances. Thanks for ruining my weekend yet again 🙃

Unfortunately, playing on a Friday and losing does have an adverse effect, today we’ll all be looking at the other results and seeing how much further we’ll slip down the table, remember we could have climbed to 6th with a win last night.
But I’ll finish this piece with a post from a Queens Park Rangers fan who left the following for Luton supporters:
We weren’t great today by any means & I though you lot looked really sharp in the first half – Get a couple of “finishers” & it would have been a different score tonight 👍🏻🔵⚪️🔵

Ah!
That old chestnut, isn’t that something we talked about on many an occasion last summer?
