Luton Support Think This Player Could Be The 7th Summer Signing

Last week, as the transfer speculation ramped up, we covered rumours relating to the possible return of somebody who has worn our familiar shirt previously.

Our article – luton-linked-with-a-return-of-someone-we-all-know – covered the possible return of the now out-of-contract AFC Wimbledon striker, Joe Piggott.

Although AFC Wimbledon struggled in League One last season, Piggott still managed to score 22 goals, quite an achievement.

But how would the speculation linking Piggott with a return to Luton, for whom he made 15 appearances scoring 4 goals back in 2016, be received by the Hatters support?

To me, it seemed an ideal question for a poll:

Joe Piggott Set For Luton Return?

With two options to choose from:

• Yes Please

And

• No Thanks

When it came to comments left, the consensus was that Piggott had not done sufficient to impress, during that aforementioned previous spell with us.

However, it was a different story when it came to the poll with 63% choosing the Yes Please option as opposed to the 37% who went for the No Thanks option.

But it remains to be seen whether Joe Piggott will become Luton’s SEVENTH signing of the close season.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we will keep an eye out for any further developments on the subject matter.

On this one I’ve been in the no thanks ranks.. I feel the new striker will come as a surprise again like Jerome and not someone we’ve discussed.

  • alan says:

mornig all, quite pleased with all the signings……striker to come……….ssshhh and news on pell, lee, hylts ect

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Alan, do you agree with me that the new striker isn’t being discussed. Also a few outgoings as well that are not unexpected

  • Alan says:

Kept it quiet, but gomes joins….

  • Chris winter says:

So we have signed gomes. I hope he performs better better than I have seen so far. But got to give the lad a chance to adapt so we will see. Still expecting another striker that’s not been talked about though.

welcome to gomes.hope he does well. looks like morrell is playing for denmark now.COYH AND ITALY.

  • Paul says:

Think Morrell is playing well, a bit harsh?

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Paul, see your watching a different game to everyone else do you have rose tinted glasses?

  • Chris winter says:

As Alan said doesn’t want to play for luton yet is fit for Wales an shows he’s not fit to play for Dagenham or Yeovil!! Says it all a pile of shite

  • Chris winter says:

So Paul, let’s see how much support Morrell has with a vote tomorrow an if luton fans want him or not.

  • paul says:

I was watching the same game as the commentator, who said he has had a good tournament.
Maybe it’s you that needs glasses, or need some knowledge of the game.
I’m posting about his performances, and you keep droning on about his loyalty to Luton.
I happen to think he is a good player, or maybe you know better than the Welsh international Managers?
Also, in all my years involved in football, I haven’t met many players that are not mercenary, if you think they come to us because they have always wanted to play for Luton, it’s you that has the rose tinted glasses.
And yes, it would be interesting to see if our supporters would want him to stay, he might even get a full game?
    I wonder what Alan thinks.

    • Chris winter says:

My comments are about his performance even his team mates are reluctant to pass to him. As I have watched football since 64 an watched live luton arsenal ajax qos rangers Black Sea varna all many times. That includes so many great players. That I know a good or bad player when I see one. And I’m not blinkered I call it as I see it.

  • Chris winter says:

Hi Paul, in my time I’ve played for vauxhall motors in the sml harpenden town I represented the R. A. F Cyprus an Germany an luton eagles Saturday afternoon football. So if you don’t think I know about football what’s your excuse

  • jimbo says:

you sure youre not on the red bull chris. impressive playing record.i was suprised when the commentator said morrell has had a good tourament, think most would agree that morrell is not of the standard required at luton, never mind wales. good to hear pauls comments.COYH AND italy.

  • Chris winter says:

Hi jimbo, ex forces so I’m always up early just how it is. An of course Paul can have an opinion. As for the comments by the commentator I’ve rarely heard them criticise a player
