One thing I’ve continually mentioned as the Hatter climbed back into the Championship, from non-league football, relates to chances.

As you climb the league ladder, you find fewer chances are created and the necessity to convert them becomes a priority.

Unfortunately, in the last three games, none of which Luton have won, we’ve spurned chances that you need to convert, something that, when it comes to points, has cost us dearly.

Sadly, in those three games, against Coventry City, Preston North End and Burnley, the Hatters by way of conceding penalties, one in each game, have given the opposition the perfect chance to score and, sadly, they have done just that.

It’s a fact that has not been lost on the Hatters support and remarked upon on social media:

It is gutting because, like the post above says, 5 points lost could, when it comes to achieving a play-off place, have a negative effect, indeed, if we had of stayed penalty free, we’d now be challenging Middlesbrough for third place and be a massive six points ahead of the team below us, Sunderland.

But, like I’ve said before, life is full of ifs and buts!

Let’s just ensure we don’t make it four penalties in four games, conceded, next weekend at St Andrews.
