News broke yesterday that ended the Hatters hopes of making yet another marque summer signing.

Earlier this summer, we reported – luton-look-to-south-london-for-top-summer-signing – on how Luton were, reportedly, showing an interest in the AFC Wimbledon free scoring midfielder, Jack Rudoni.

Unfortunately, any such deal turned out to be speculative with The BBC reporting that 21-year-old Rudoni has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with our Championship rivals, Huddersfield Town.

However, my view is that any Luton Town interest, in Rudoni, ended when Carlton Morris – luton-fans-euphoric-over-latest-summer-signing – put pen-to-paper on a contract, with the Hatters, in the first week of July.

Both deals have an air of mystique about them with both quoted as being completed with undisclosed fees.

But speculation is still in circulation inferring Morris may well, with add-ons, be the Hatters record signing.

Therefore, although the club is probably being run on as solid a foundation, financially, it has ever been, I reckon there was no way Luton were going to risk being unable to balance the books and risk another, somewhere down the line, financial implosion.

But what are your views on the subject matter, please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.
