The big talking point, when it came to the January transfer window, was whether Luton Town would add a striker to the squad.
Throughout the month of January, whenever the Hatters failed to get a positive result, the social media posts were unanimous in the fact Luton needed a striker.
But, as was pointed out on more than one occasion, the small matter of availability and cost was mentioned.
With a matter of days to go before the January transfer window closed, I felt I had no choice and had to test the water by posting the following poll question:
Will A Striker Sign Before The Window Closes?
I kept things simple by providing just two options, YES and NO!
As transfer deadline day passed, those who voted NO, a majority of 71%, looked as if they had judged this one correct.
Okay, some may point out that Tom Ince signed for Luton, but I would argue Ince, with all his qualities cannot be described as an out-and-out striker.
But just as if it looked as if the majority had gotten this correct, up popped Elijah Adebayo, or to rightfully give him his full name – Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo, proving that the 29% who had gone for the YES option had judged this one correctly.
As for the way I voted, I have to admit I belong to the ‘Oh Ye Of Little Faith’ group who went for the NO option!

Hi mh, I suppose by now we should be used to the secrecy surrounding luton transfer dealings. The manager an management are past masters at blindsiding everyone on their real targets. Jones saying a week before that he’s in no real need of reinforcements. A prime example. I would say that I have seen it said in newspapers we paid £250,000 for adebayo it was under £200,000 in fact. This for a player who 2yrs ago with that record would have probably been £3/4000,000. To me is a great bit of business if he makes the grade
given the chance and the service, I reckon he will come good and prove to be a bargain
