Luton – Nathan Jones Has A Dream

Before the 0-0 draw, against Reading, the gaffer, Nathan Jones, was looking toward his side clinching, at the end of the season, a top-10 finish in the Championship.

As reported by the local media source, Luton Today, Nathan is quoted as having remarked about his future ambitions for the club:

“Our goal is to be top 10 now. If we can do that and recruit well, keep hold of players, then the goal next year is to be closer to the top six than we are now.

“A lot of people would laugh at that and say, ‘how can you have a bottom three budget and expect that?

“That’s what the club’s built on, that ambition, that desire to do well.

“We only believe we’re going to get better and we’ve always believed that from the time I was fortunate to come into the club in 2016.

“We’ve improved every single year and that’s the continual goal.”

Those words really do auger well for the future but as is often the case there are a lot of ifs and buts to be considered.

But returning to Nathan’s opening line:

“Our goal is to be top 10 now.”

is that still feasible?

Following the 0-0 draw, against Reading, the Hatters have four games left to play and sit in 10th position with 57 points.

The teams immediately above us, Millwall (11th) and Middlesbrough (10th), have 59 and 60 points respectively but Luton have a game in hand.

Crucially, we have still to play Middlesbrough and of the other three games, only Queens Park Rangers occupy a position higher in the table than us.

So, what do you reckon folks, is a top-10 finish, with four games to go, plausible?
