Luton Linked With Promising Young Midfielder

The grapevine is alive with speculation linking Luton Town with the addition of another midfielder to the squad.

After securing the services of Allan Campbell earlier this week, as reported by Vital Luton Town – luton-add-midfielder-to-squad – it is being reported by the Eastern Daily Press, that the Hatters are among a batch of clubs looking at the Kings Lynn Town midfielder, Sonny Carey.

Carey, just 20-years-of-age, according to our referenced source, has been the subject of a bid from Luton, said to be of the magnitude of £100,000.

However, it seems that the bid has been rejected with Kings Lynn holding out for a higher fee and it is also suggested that any higher offer must be accompanied by some serious add-on clauses.

As for other clubs said to be interested, look no further than Blackpool, Bournemouth and Swansea City.

With, following the pandemic crisis, cash being tight throughout the world of football, finding something of an un-cut gem, in non-league football, is every clubs’ dream.

But whether Carey, who made 44 appearances and scored 6 goals for Kings Lynn last season, can be persuaded his future lies at Kenilworth Road, remains to be seen.

It is also a deal in which, due to his non-league status, we cannot offer our thoughts on when it comes to the playing side, however, we trust in the Hatters recruitment team and will be keeping a watchful eye out for any further developments.
