Luton Linked With Acquisition Of League Two Striker

Digging deep, here at Vital Luton Town, we have discovered a piece of transfer speculation that could lead to something.

According to the local media source – Luton Today – the Hatters are showing an interest in the 22-year-old Morecambe striker – Carlos Mendes Gomes

Gomes, born in Senegal but considered to be Spanish after moving to Spain as a young child, has scored 17 goals in 73 league appearances for Morecambe and is also attracting attention from other clubs, with Hull City, Blackburn Rovers and Swansea City getting honourable mentions.

As a youth, Gomes spent time playing for Getafe and Atletico Madrid before, in 2016, moving to England joining West Didsbury and Chorlton before joining Morecambe in 2018.

At 5 feet 10 inches, Gomes can play as a striker but is also able to play as a winger.

Although Luton face stiff opposition for the player, if he is indeed one of our summer transfer targets, he could partner Elijah Adebayo in a new look Luton attack for the forthcoming 2021/2022 season.

But is it a possible signing that brings a smile to your face?
