Those who frequent social media sites, relating to Luton Town, will have seen that a familiar figure, sadly, passed away on Thursday evening.

Alan Adair, a staunch Luton Town supporter for over five decades, succumbed to his battle against cancer and passed away in a hospice in Milton Keynes.

Anyone who came into contact with Alan wouldn’t have failed to appreciate his kind nature, his good sense of humour and his general love of life.

Personally, I only got to communicate with Alan when I volunteered to publicise his excellent book, relating to his life following Luton Town FC, on this site.

Now I’m not expecting any tributes to be made to Alan at the Sunderland game this afternoon, however, once the football season recommences following the international break, I’m sincerely hoping that the club will organise something to remember Alan by for the home fixture against Watford.

In the meantime, let’s all hope that the team bust a gut, this afternoon, to bring back the three points from Sunderland in honour of a truly unique Hatters supporter who travelled the length of the country supporting his team.

RIP – Alan Adair

Often used to speak to Alan in The Bobbers, mainly about our respective Scottish teams. Him Rangers, me the mighty Partick Thistle!
    RIP Alan.
