Luton – It Is Not Only Us You Know

After the 2-1 defeat, at the hands of Middlesbrough yesterday, Nathan Jones, in his post-match interview, brought up an interesting point.

Nestling in among an interview he gave The BBC, Nathan remarked:

“We got overrun a bit first-half, we weren’t us first-half and we didn’t respond in that half.”

But is that becoming a common problem?

The reason I ask is that it is not the first time the Hatters haven slow coming out of the box, does something go awry between leaving the dressing room and the kick-off?

It is a question I hope prompts a response in our comment facility.

But it is not just a problem that Luton appear to suffer from.

Sat watching Match of the Day last night, after returning from the pub earlier than usual, I watched our conquerors in midweek, Chelsea, put in a very indifferent first forty-five minutes before going through the gears to come out as the easy victors.

Something Nathan also thought Luton did yesterday, further remarking in the referenced interview:

“Second-half we did, we came out of the traps and we were better and we had enough chances to get back into the game but we didn’t.”

That old chestnut about having to be clinical the higher you go up the leagues.

It’s puzzling that teams rarely put together a 90-minute performance, but does anyone know why?

If so, can you share it with us?

The other thing that is strange, is as soon as we lose a game, everything is wrong. The goalkeeping thing is ridiculous. Sub palmer after a minute is the stupidest thing I have ever heard as it is a waste of a substitution. Who knows if isted wouldn’t of got beaten at the near post….no one has mentioned the disgraceful referee ( on both sides i may add ) and the fact we did have chances to get something from the game….teams lose it happens…..there is no devine right for us not to lose….get over it & focus on Tuesday…

My point Alan was the rediculace rule about the must play first game after signing. An the efl itself. I did say the boy wasn’t to blame for the situation. Only the fact that he hadn’t trained with the team. Was a problem. Also I’m sure I’ve seen that ploy used in a game just can’t remember when.

It prob has….but then having picked up 3 injuries later in the, game it would have proved a waste of a substitution….
