Luton Forward Goes Out On Loan

It may be quiet on the incoming front when it comes to January transfer deadline day, but the first departure, from the club, has been announced.

Breaking news on Sky Sports infers that Elliot Lee has left Kenilworth Road to join Oxford United on loan for the remainder of the season.

Elliot has found attaining a regular place in Nathan Jones starting eleven difficult to come by this season.

Dropping down a division to League One will allow Elliot the chance to play on a regular basis whilst also giving the Hatters a little room, on the budget sheet, for a little manipulation.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Elliot all the best while away on loan.

But what are your thoughts on the loan deal, does it get your approval?

Hi mh, 1 out possibly 1 more to follow anto Oxford so no grigg for them now

  • Chris winter says:

Hi mh, yes probably. But looks like one young prem in an one champ player in an one out so far. Sound familiar

    Ince deal done….

  • Alan says:

Could be good….long time since we’ve had a big man up top…..

Hi all, so after all the comments yesterday about the signings. I thought I would look again at them dispassionately. Tom Ince signed for £10million. When he started there the manager used him in his best position he scored goals and was very influencial. After the manager was sacked numerous managers including Nathan played a different system playing him out of position. That is not his fault so the criticism on here about him being unable to get in the team is unjustified. If Nathan can bring himself to play Ince properly then you don’t lose class an he could be a class addition if allowed to play in his old position. Now I saw comments about we need a super mac/dowie player. We’ll we brought in a 6ft 4 in built like a tank player from yes div2 but in these days we got a guy who would have cost £3/4 hundred thousand for less than £2 hundred. Now if handled right he could be a bargain. He give Nathan the option if he is willing to sacrifice his principles to use the option to go long on occasion if nessasary. So all in all if Nathan can use these players correctly I can see us having a great run to the end of the season an maybe those critics on rubbish signings Could be cheering.

Hi chris, dont think anyone with half a football brain can criticize these signings….well within our budget…both know where the goal is….everyone screaming for more strike force…well now we at least have options…I’m pretty pleased to be honest…roll on Saturday….

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Alan, yes so am I. But as I said in my comment will Nathan be able to use them to best effect as for me that is the key. Will he play Ince in his most effective role an change his system if nessersary? Can he change his principle an go long to adebayo? That’s the crucial question. It would be great to see a forward who can rough defenders up an give them a worrying time

  • Alan says:

Think nj will change the game plan. Gives us an option to go long when needed. We haven’t had target man to be able to play that way. Now we will have an option to mix it up from time to time….KDH and ince could be be a bit exciting to see together too…..

    • Mad Hatter says:

Being able to keep hold of KDH, especially with Leicester’s current midfield injury situation was a huge bonus.

  • Chris winter says:

Let’s hope they can play together and yes I think it has potential to be a real force in the division

  • Alan says:

Surprised a couple more didn’t move out though…

  • Chris winter says:

2 outgoings fell through an 2 in comings fell through. Both signings as you know Jones has 1st 2nd an 3rd choices were not top of the list. But as with all transfer deadlines things ended up a rush

    • Mad Hatter says:

That’s the way it goes on deadline day, gawd knows how hard it must be to get the deals done in these pandemic driven times!
