It is always disappointing to end the season with a defeat, as was the case yesterday, but this season has been a great one for the Hatters.
We should not forget that we went into the last game of the 2019 / 2020 season needing a win, away to Blackburn Rovers, to preserve our Championship season, after a disastrous period with Graeme Jones at the managerial helm.
To finish this season in a very respectable 12th place, is something we would all have grasped with both hands when the season kicked off.
On reflection, perhaps with a bit more application, we could have finished higher, but let us be grateful for what we did achieve.
We now have the foundations to build upon and, for me, next season cannot come around quick enough.
I am pleased to say that those views are echoed by the majority of those who choose to comment on social media, as those shown below illustrate perfectly:
What a season we’ve had. 12’th is huge for us and all of us are so proud of the club. Annoying game today but QPR are just better than us so we can’t exactly complain. Wasn’t a 3-1 but that last goal was woeful defending with a sprinkle of luck for Adomah.

I am sure they will, wherever, considering the limited travel arrangements currently in place, they choose to do so.
But, perhaps, the biggest disappointment from the season was the effects of the pandemic and the closure, apart from a couple of games, the fact Kenilworth Road was deprived of spectators, something we are all looking at being remedied next season:
Superb season. Proud of my club and everyone involved. Cant wait to be back at the Kenny next season! 🧡 #COYH

But, as we prepare for the close season and a change of attack on the material provided on Vital Luton, I’ll close with the following tweet:
At least we finished above that small club @stokecity 🤣 great season to #LTFC things to work on but safe in the middle, something to build on in a couple years I can see play offs ☺️

I wonder if Nathan Jones had a wry smile on his face when he glanced at the final Championship table last night?
