Luton – Could A Managerial Departure Be On The Cards?

The managerial merry-go-round, in the top-flight of English football, has already started, but could it have ramifications for Luton Town?

Yesterday, Thomas Tuchel, following hot-on-the-heels of Scott Parker, became the second Premier League manager to be sacked, with Chelsea’s new owners deciding that he didn’t suit the plans they have in store for the club.

Less than a couple of hours after Tuchel had been axed, it became obvious that Brighton’s Graham Potter was the man that Chelsea believed filled their criteria and it is expected that the appointment will be confirmed very shortly.

If that is the case Brighton and Hove Albion will soon be looking to fill their own managerial vacancy and it sets up an imposing question, could the south coast side look towards Nathan Jones as their next boss?

The idea isn’t based in the realms of fantasy as Jones has connections with the south coast club, his stock is also on the rise after his managerial skills, last season, saw him named Championship Manager of the Season.

Indeed, looking through the potential list of candidates, Nathan is third on the list!

But how do you see this piece of speculation panning out?

Could, if asked, Nathan be prepared to jump the Kenilworth Road ship for a second time, or will he stay loyal?

If Brighton come calling an he wants to go let him. He’s not not for me. Money talks he walks.

I think if offered it he will go. He has already proved once there is no such thing a loyalty in football management. I think this is one of the reasons Luton tied him to a long term contract so at least they should get good compensation.

    Hi MH
Surely he will not jump ship once again? The job may seem a good prospect but anything less than top 6 in the premiership will be deemed a failure by Brighton FC owner’s.

All this promise of loyalty seems to mean for nothing if he gets and accepts the job. Many managers would dream of getting the long term contract he currently has.

a few people on here would be happy to see him go. i hope he stays, and leads this club to greater things. he has got lots of options going for next season, i think he will stay and reap the benefits. COYH.

I don’t think it’s a case of jumping ship. This time it will be a case of whether the board would approve. Luton never stands in the way of any one leaving for the Premier league. They would allow discussion on a move after compensation deal has been arranged. If the board and Nathan are happy with a move then it will happen. Otherwise he is staying at luton . We would want 5 million in compensation . Robinson as the next manager?

No way will Brighton go after NJ as a manager ne has only won a league 2 runners up success – did very poorly at Stoke in the few weeks he was there – there is more chance of Pelly being our top scorer this season than NJ becoming Brightons new Manager – they certainly wont buy him out of his contract with LTFC – just pie in the sky wishful thinking we are stuck with him I am afraid! Probably the job will go to Sean Dyche.
