Now that was three massive points the Hatters earned at Bramall Lane this afternoon, against Sheffield United.

Ahead of the game, I always thought it would be a tight game and I even hinted I’d be happy with a 1-1 draw, even more so when I learned that Alfie Doughty and Jordan Clark were absent through injury.

But, as they have done time and time again, Luton Town defied the odds, rose to the occasion and grabbed a win and in the process making it 34 points gained away from home, the most by any EFL Championship club this season.

A solitary strike from Carlton Morris, his fifteenth goal of the 2022/2023 season was enough to send the Hatters home with joy in their hearts.

The result moves Luton Town further up the table with the club now occupying fourth place in the table, five points ahead of seventh placed Norwich City.

Naturally, the result was greeted with praise from the Hatters support on social media:

Okay, I’ll agree it wasn’t the most entertaining of games but when this league is so tight and with so many clubs still in with a chance of a play-off place, everything tends to be about the result, besides, who can argue when the Hatters keep another clean sheet.

And, for those who doubted whether, once Nathan Jones had left the club, the momentum could be continued, Rob Edwards has surely taken us up to another level:

Just how beautiful remains to be seen, but there’s no reason why we can’t go one better than last season and at least reach the play-off final and then who knows!

i keep mentioning grit and determination. today surpassed all my expectations. although a scrappy game, what a fabulous win. without clark and doughty, i expected a hard game, but we nullified them for a long time. shame they resorted to dirty tactics, there players are better than that. very pleased for the team and the boss. long way to go, enjoy the ride.COYH.
