Luton Confirm Another Summer Signing

Image for Luton Confirm Another Summer Signing

This morning, prompted by one of our regular visitors, we ran an article relating to the possible acquisition of Luke Freeman.

Our article – luton-the-forgotten-duo – mentioned that Nathan Jones has, according to the media, twice been linked with acquiring the 30-year-old.

Well, it seems the second approach has been successful with the Official Luton Town Site confirming that Freeman has put pen-to-paper on a permanent deal, joining Luton from Sheffield United.

The official site also confirms that Luke has been training with the squad ahead of the deal being concluded and will also form part of the Luton party that jets to Slovenia tomorrow as part of the preparations for the coming season.

Freeman’s arrival adds another member to a midfield department that we have already mentioned now looks overloaded with talent.

In the coming days I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the squad who served us well, last season, could be set to bid farewell.

But does anyone care to guess who might be heading for the exit door?

Please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.

No names but figure it out the possibility of 2 of the old guard joining Danny out the door long standing players. Plus a possible surprise.

Lansbury for me is one that i think will go cant see him being involved much this season he gets to many yellow cards you would also think that thorpe will go out as well

  • Danny says:

Thorpe, Pereira, Gomes out on loan along with Rea once fit. Muskwe to depart permanently, don’t think we will see snods returning

I guess the following players will struggle for game time
    Lansbury
    Pelly
    Berry
    Thorpe

Hi MH Surprised you suggest Luke Berry our third highest goal scorer with 7 goals in only 115 minutes of play time last season. Will be disappointed if you are right. I believe it is time for Pelly to move on his goals scored is poor and he has not been consistent as in the past. Thing Lansbury is at risk as is Rae supposedly our highest paid player last season.
Some of the younger midfielders will have to go out on loan if we continue with more midfield signings. With this new team outlook will put some money on us reaching the playoffs once again

Guys one name I haven’t seen yet is more likely a defender. Would be sorry but likely to go. Berry touch an go. Rea no chance until fit maybe a loan.

  • Danny says:

Barnsley striker Carlton Morris is being linked by same journo that reported potential Woodrow deal. £2m sounds like a lot of money even if part of that is add-ons considering his scoring record. Adebayor off somewhere to fund the deal ? bloody hope not unless we’re talking big bucks !

      worrying times

    • Chris winter says:

Danny given a choice between Morris 7 goals an 5 assists £2 million an 26 yrs old an rudoni 12 goals 8 assists £1 million 21yrs old I know which one I’d want!!!

      • Danny says:

yep all day long Chris, £2m for a injury prone striker who scored the same amount of goals as Luke Berry last season yet played more games really doesn’t sound like a great deal. Hopefully it’s just a smoke screen to divert attention away from getting the Rudoni deal done

  • Danny says:

apparently another Championship club is also in for him. If he can score goals on a more regular basis like the one he scored against us at home last season then fair do’s, his goal that night had Rooney written all over it, a terrific goal
