Luton – Changes To Be Made For Blackburn Game

The Championship springs back to life this weekend after the conclusion of the first international break of the season.

The Hatters travel to the north-west to take on Blackburn Rovers, looking to get back to winning ways after a savage home loss to Birmingham City and then a goalless draw with Sheffield United, at Kenilworth Road.

Following the taking of just one point from the last six available, questions have been asked about Nathan Jones starting XI selection, perhaps a little harshly considering the problems the Hatters have had, injury and pandemic wise, behind the scenes.

Earlier this week, we ran an article – our-best-starting-xi – with its title being self-explanatory.

Yesterday, as reported by the Official Site, we learned that Nathan was able to include some of those that have been in the treatment room in the side for U23’s development game against Crystal Palace.

Making welcome returns from injury were Luke Berry, Sony Bradley while James Shea, Dion Periera, Carlos Mendes Gomes and Cameron Jerome were all given valuable game time.

Could, when it comes to our injury crisis, Luton’s problems be rescinding and could we be set to reveal an interesting starting XI for the game away to Blackburn Rovers?

Let us hope so, life in the Championship is tough without having to operate with one hand tied behind your back.

Morning mh, without knowing who is really fit enough. And not wishing to yet again criticise nj if they aren’t fit to play. We must start lansbury an Jerome. Also dispite injury I don’t think pelly must be in the team or rea. I want a more rugged side so naismith osho lockyer Burke Bradley osho Campbell in so be it. I will gladly sacrifice skill players just to get 3pts at the moment.

  • jimbo says:

well said chris. don’t be suprised if ruddock is picked???? a more rugged side is good for championship football.lets hope we like the team selection.COYH.

  • Alan says:

Shame pelly stayed really…everyone moaned when he stalled on staying, now I think they wish he had gone…

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Alan, I still think pelly has something to offer as well. But he’s had no pre season an injuries. An at the moment is off the pace. So I wouldn’t be picking him until he’s fully up to speed. No other reason

Chris, I said beginning of the season, when I saw the players being bought in, that I saw pelly and cornick as squad players.. my main point is others on here constantly on pellys back, when at the end of they day he doesnt pick himself…now I’m being accused of getting angry for making a point about maybe it would have been better had he gone….

  • jimbo says:

alan,we all support ltfc, why do you get so angry about ruddock. i wish he had gone in the transfer window, but if he shakes off this injury you say he has,and can play like he used to,everyone will be happy.the ball is in ruddocks court now, sort your injury out, while you are out of the team, and earn yourself a place in the team.simple. coyh.

  • Alan says:

Jimbo I didn’t see an anger in my post. Just my thoughts. In my opinion, I don’t think anybody in the midfield is performing. Many people got angry at my post concerning Morrell before he left. I certainly wont waste any anger on anyone on here believe me….simple…

  • jimbo says:

i agreed that morrel should go,i never got angry. glad you won’t waste any more anger on anyone on here.please keep trying to convince many people on here that ruddock should be playing, thats your opinion.simple.COYH.

  • Alan says:

Please continue to read posts before responding..
If u read what I’ve said.
    1. I said when pelly signed I saw him as a squad player, not a starter.
    2. I’m not trying to convince anyone he should start.
    3. He doesn’t pick himself.
    4. I never said it was YOU getting angry over Morrell.
    Enough said….

  • jimbo says:

thanks for clearing that up alan.and you are right ,enough said. please remember we all support the same team. and we all have our own opinions. if ruddock is your hero thats fine by me.COYH.

  • Alan says:

I’m a bit long in the tooth for hero’s just don’t see the point in constantly being on a players back who doesn’t pick himself…..and of whom I have said, I don’t think he should playing….again read what I post before, commenting…..

  • jimbo says:

you are never to old to have a hero. if you think i am always on ruddocks back its only because of his performance,or lack of performance.myself and others on here can’t all be wrong. i am going to concentrate on the team now,and let the ruddock conundrum sort its self out. always interesting seeing your points of view alan.COYH.
