Last week, here at Vital Luton Town, I ran another episode of what is becoming an increasingly popular feature.

Our article – something-for-the-weekend-sir – asked you to take a look at the fixtures involving those clubs who are involved in the promotion / play-off shake up and predict the outcome of those very same fixtures.

As usual, I was the first to stick my head above the parapet and offer my predictions, as can be seen below:

• Stoke City v Blackburn Rovers DRAW (HOME WIN)
• Burnley v Wigan Athletic HOME (HOME WIN)
• Coventry City v Hull City HOME (DRAW)
• Preston North End v Cardiff City HOME (HOME WIN)
• Queens Park Rangers v Watford DRAW (HOME WIN)
• Reading v Millwall AWAY (AWAY WIN)
• Sheffield United v Luton Town DRAW (AWAY WIN)
• Swansea City v Middlesbrough AWAY (AWAY WIN)
• West Bromwich Albion v Huddersfield Town HOME (HOME WIN)
• Norwich City v Sunderland HOME (AWAY WIN)

Now I correctly predicted 5 out of 10, not a bad result, but did you do better?

As I expected, some of the results went Luton’s way, Blackburn Rovers, Coventry City, Watford, Sheffield United and Norwich all dropped points, while the Hatters produced an excellent win to climb the the table up to fourth position.

Thankfully, the task was better received than in the first week and I offer my thanks to all those who participated.

Hopefully, it is a feature that can be developed as we approach what could very well be a historic end to the 2022/2023 as far as Luton Town Football Club goes.
