Luton – All Change On The Keeper Front

It only seems a matter of minutes ago that we published an article relating to our goalkeeper Matt Macey.

Our article – keeper-set-for-a-transfer-window-move-claim – whilst acknowledging that Macey could be set for a January transfer window move, inferred that it could be to either Aberdeen or Dundee United.

But, it seems, the scenario could, very well, have changed with Football Insider 24/7 championing the suggestion that a deal for the 28-year-old has now been agreed with Portsmouth.

Macey, according to our referenced source, will join the south-coast side, on loan until the end of the season.

However, if this deal does go through it will leave the Hatters with only two recognised goalkeepers available, Ethan Horvath and Harry Isted, until James Shea resumes full fitness.

Here’s hoping that we don’t see a repeat of last season, before Shea gets fit, otherwise we could be, as we were in 2021/2022, be on the lookout for a loan keeper.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we’ll keep abreast of the situation and report back any further developments.

I’m keeping my eyes out for what the Pompey fans have to say about the deal, could be interesting lol

I would think if macey goes another could be on the way in.

Hi Alan, we’ve heard nothing about shea and his injury. If he’s nowhere near returning then with forest losing Henderson and in the market for another keeper then it must be possible that forest could recall hoverth. So it wouldn’t surprise me. As long as isted gets his chance.

  • Alan says:
