It may seem an age away, at present, but trust me the new season will soon be upon us.

Indeed, it will not be long, four weeks or so, before the Hatters embark on a run of pre-season friendly fixtures.

Just recently, according to Luton Today, Chesham United announced a pre-season friendly fixture against Luton Town and I’m sure we’ll be partaking in our traditional trip to take on Hitchin Town.

Last season, the Hatters, in their pre-season build up, took on:

• Hitchin Town
• Bravo
• Gillingham
• Northampton Town
• Peterborough United
• West Ham United

With only the Gillingham and West Ham United games being played at Kenilworth Road.

As an EFL Championship side, then managed by Nathan Jones, the fixtures served us well.

But who will encounter this summer?

One thing that is absolutely certain is that there will be, courtesy of the rebuilding of the Bobbers Stand, be no home friendly fixtures.

With our newfound status as a Premier League side, I’m half expecting that the standard of opposition, ahead of our first EPL fixture, will be ramped up.

Perhaps, with an influx of cash, we may be treated to a short European tour, Holland perhaps, keep those eyes and ears pasted and let us, here at Vital Luton Town, know if you hear anything.
