Luton – A Dewsbury-Hall Update

Delving into what could become a wait-and-see situation, I am none the wiser as to whether a popular figure from this season will return next season.

The performances provided by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, saw the on-loan Leicester City midfielder take our – player-of-the-season – accolade.

But, with Nathan Jones keen to be able to secure a second season on loan with Luton – midfielder-talks-are-so-important – our investigations suggest patience could be a virtue as the start of the season commences.

Dewsbury-Hall, as reported by Luton Today – has spoken about his ambitions for next season, with our quote source reporting the 22-year-old as having remarked:

“As a Leicester player my goal is to break into the first team and secure a place there.

“I believe in my ability and I believe I can do that, but obviously you never know what’s going to happen in football.

“I know I’m going to give it my best shot at the start of pre-season to break into that team and we’ll see what happens from there.”

Now I have no argument with that, you cannot blame Dewsbury-Hall for wanting to prove himself in the top-flight of English football.

However, it appears no decision will be made until the pre-season fixtures are underway.

But fair play to the lad, he does not appear to be ruling out his other options, further commenting:

“If that’s not the case then I might have to look at other options that I might have to go down.

And considering his remarks on his spell at Kenilworth Road:

“I’ve got some absolutely fantastic memories and it’s by far my best footballing year so far.”

I would say a possible return to Kenilworth Road could be an option.

But the situation is fraught with danger, if Luton hang out for a possible return of Dewsbury-Hall, only to see those plans fail, could we be forced into a late plunger into the transfer market?

Adding something else to the mix, our recent poll:

Can You See KDH At Luton Next Season?

did not produce a conclusive result with 57% voting for NO and 43% voting for YES.

My view is that the club should consider other options, leaving all your eggs in one basket, unless they can get some sort of guarantee from Leicester, is a dangerous game to play.

But what are your thoughts on the subject matter?
