The big danger as we continue to push towards a return to the Football League is our better players being picked off by clubs in the forthcoming transfer window.

Although we`d hope that the board has told John Still that nobody will be sold, everyone knows that money, especially big-money, talks.

Already the media are shoving under our noses the fact that our young centre-back Alex Lacey is attracting attention from several clubs.

Lacey, who was a first team regular until he picked up a metatarsal injury, has been linked with a possible move to several clubs, most notably, Bournemouth, Charlton, Millwall and Peterborough United.

At just 20 years of age, Lacey has a great future ahead of him in this wonderful game of ours, let`s hope at least the next few years are in our familiar shirts!
