Just When Will Luton Town Resume Their Season Now 30-April Has Been Ruled Out

It’s a question I’m not sure anybody knows the answer to!

When those who control the EFL announced there’d be no resumption of the EFL fixtures until at least 30-April, I believed that date was totally unrealistic considering the circumstances we were facing.

Although I take no pleasure in saying so, it appears I was 100% correct.

Today, The Daily Mail are reporting that the EFL has informed all EPL clubs, via a memo, the resumption of football next month is impossible.

With the government, quite rightly, having imposed a ‘lockdown’ on the citizens of the UK, players are, like most of us, self-distancing with the result that training sessions have been cancelled.

So, where does this leave us, when will the 2019 / 2020 EFL programme resume, if at all?

Already we’ve seen the Football Association announce that all football below the EFL’s three divisions has been ended with all results scrapped.

Is that what awaits the fate of those who participate in the Champions, League One and League Two?

Could the Hatters retain their Championship status by default?

If that extraordinary move is taken, I forecast that there will be uproar with clubs who are challenging for promotion not greeting the news with open arms.

Perhaps we’ll know more when the authorities of both the Premier League and the EFL meet next week.

But I wouldn’t bet on anything concrete being announced.
