Just When Will Luton Town Resume Their Season Now 30-April Has Been Ruled Out

It’s a question I’m not sure anybody knows the answer to!

When those who control the EFL announced there’d be no resumption of the EFL fixtures until at least 30-April, I believed that date was totally unrealistic considering the circumstances we were facing.

Although I take no pleasure in saying so, it appears I was 100% correct.

Today, The Daily Mail are reporting that the EFL has informed all EPL clubs, via a memo, the resumption of football next month is impossible.

With the government, quite rightly, having imposed a ‘lockdown’ on the citizens of the UK, players are, like most of us, self-distancing with the result that training sessions have been cancelled.

So, where does this leave us, when will the 2019 / 2020 EFL programme resume, if at all?

Already we’ve seen the Football Association announce that all football below the EFL’s three divisions has been ended with all results scrapped.

Is that what awaits the fate of those who participate in the Champions, League One and League Two?

Could the Hatters retain their Championship status by default?

If that extraordinary move is taken, I forecast that there will be uproar with clubs who are challenging for promotion not greeting the news with open arms.

Perhaps we’ll know more when the authorities of both the Premier League and the EFL meet next week.

But I wouldn’t bet on anything concrete being announced.

Hi mh, hope you’re well. I think you are absolutely right. I’m not sure if this season can survive. With the ongoing situation. After I saw your post about Mark Pembridge it set me thinking about our best 11 players vote. An home produced players. 1 player that I don’t remember getting a vote is very surprising an that was marvellous marvin Johnson!!! What a legend how about a new poll best 11 home produced players. To while away the hours.

It’s a good idea Chris, traffic is quiet at the moment, I guess that shows most people take a peep at the site from their work desks 🙂 But I will cobble some articles together on those who didn’t make the Best XI or didn’t receive any nominations.

    Missing my football all round:
If we ever get started but not finished, I feel the best way to end the season is one team up and one down for each division with no play offs. Something to play for

It certainly is a strange situation and whatever they decide to do will come in for criticism I feel
