Hull City v Luton Town – A Little Chit Chat

With the international break now behind us, thankfully, it is time to resume our Championship programme.

Next up for the Hatters is the long trip to Hull to take on Hull City this Friday night.

I’m suspecting that there groans of anguish released when Sky Sports decided that the game would be televised live but with a Friday night kick-off.

Travelling backwards and forward to Hull, on a Saturday is bad enough but, on a Friday, for an evening kick-off, will be a tortuous affair, I dread to think what time those who travel will climb into their beds.

Yet again it is a case of catering for the armchair fans as opposed to the real fans.

But it is a case of getting on with it, dealing with the inconvenience and, hopefully, Luton can rise to the occasion and come back with the three points.

Confidence should be high in the camp after the win against an under-performing Blackburn Rovers side, but I wouldn’t take anything for granted as strange things happen after international breaks.

On paper it would seem Luton have a great chance of taking the three points on offer, Hull City have accumulated two points less than Luton but have a suspect defence, as a goal difference of -10 confirms.

Matt Ingram, who was on loan at Kenilworth Road at the back end of last season, has been replaced between the posts by a keeper on loan from Chelsea, as Hull struggle to stem the flow of goals conceded.

Personally, I have this gut feeling that Luton, despite performing in front of the Sky Sports cameras, will shine and take the three points and I predict a 2-1 win with Carlton Morris extending his fine run by getting at least one of the goals.
