Has One Image Ruined Nathan Jones Chances Of Ever Returning To Manage Luton Town Again?

With no sign of a resumption of the EFL season, the number one topic of conversation among the Hatters fraternity is, currently, who’ll succeed Graeme Jones as the manager of the club.

After axing Graeme Jones, it appeared that the appointment of an immediate successor was not high on the clubs’ agenda with Mick Harford being asked to look after matters, once again, in a liaison role.

However, that hasn’t stopped our friends, the bookmakers, from suggesting who might be the next incumbent with, as we’ve already mentioned, Nathan Jones, remaining the current favourite, as can be seen from the freebetting.co.uk site, who list the candidates as follows:

• 4/9 – Nathan Jones
• 8/1 – Stephen Robinson
• 10/1 – Mick Harford
• 12/1 – Steve Rutter
• 14/1 – Michael Flynn
• 16/1 – Paul Heckingbottom
• 20/1 – Michael Duff
• 20/1 – Paul Hurst
• 20/1 – Micky Mellon

Our poll still errs towards Nathan being given the job, but it is still very close.

But it has become apparent, over the last twenty-four hours, that several Luton supporters would be far from happy with the re-appointment of Nathan.

This unhappiness stems from when Nathan won the Manager of the Month award for his achievements at Kenilworth Road but collected the award adorning Stoke City kit, as can be seen in the link – The Stoke Sentinel.

It was a moment that prompted responses, in our comment facility, such as:

“The picture of Jones in a Stoke shirt with his manager of the month award, he won at Luton, still makes my stomach turn. No way for NJ.”

And

“Jones (Nathan) has burnt his bridges in my mind, the manner in his departure, the acceptance of his manager of the month award in his Stoke kit hurt.”

Has that one moment of, apparent, madness ruined any chance of the Hatters support accepting the possible re-appointment of Nathan Jones?

Or is it the time to let bygones be bygones?

Once again, your thoughts on the subject matter would be most welcome in the comment facility beneath this article.
