Former Goalkeeper Linked With Luton Move

The transfer window may be firmly shut, until the summer, but it does not stop something we all thrive on, transfer speculation.

Today, one news source, The 72 has resurrected the inference that the Hatters could be set to revive their interest in signing a goalkeeper that has already had a spell at Kenilworth Road, earlier in his career.

The goalkeeper in question is Christian Walton, who made 33 appearances for Luton Town during the 2016 / 2017 campaign.

Walton, still just 25-years-of-age, is out of contract at Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the season and will be a free agent.

However, with regards to the speculation you may ask yourselves why would Luton have any interest in signing another goalkeeper when we are admirably served by Simon Sluga and James Shea?

It is a fair point and the only reason I could foresee the Hatters making an approach for Christian Walton is if they decide to cash in on our Croatian international to raise funds to strengthen a squad, bearing in mind that the ongoing pandemic has reduced financial revenue streams.

Is it something you could see happening or is it just a red herring thrown into the mix by an overenthusiastic journalist?

Your thoughts on the above subject matter would be most appreciated.
