Yesterday, Friday, the announcement was made that the 5th round FA Cup tie between Southampton and either ourselves or Grimsby will be televised live.
It was something we felt deserved a mention – luton-5th-round-tie-on-tv – and, to spice it up we asked a very pertinent question, relating to Nathan Jones.
However, assuming, which is always a dangerous game, the decision to select the game for coverage and with an earlier than usual kick-off of 19:15, has brought, on social media, cries of despair from the Hatters support:

It is strange, it’s not even as if ITV are trying to improve the standing of the FA Cup, otherwise it would be on ITV not ITV4.
But one poster, goes even harder relating to the kick-off time, using a bit of sarcasm to highlight the fact it’ll be the travelling fans that are inconvenienced rather than the comfy armchair fan:

But among the darkness there is light, with the subject of financial gain, from appearing on TV, being highlighted:

Once again, the travelling supporters being trodden on does, quite rightly, get a mention.
But among the darkness, one poster has illuminated, brightly, one aspect of the TV coverage and its earlier than normal kick-off time:

Er, that’s if the trains are running mate, it’s got so confusing I’ve given up travelling by train altogether, it’s the 16-year-old Audi A3 that’ll be rumbling down the M3 with me and three mates, providing Grimsby Town don’t upset the apple-cart!

Have empathy on the timings for our travelling fans… As an international fan just glad it is on TV. Don’t get to see any of the FA Cup usually.
Should really strike up a deal with iFollow so clubs can inject more money into the club and they will have more coverage, all the goals are shown so cameras and crews obviously at all grounds regardless.
What are they moaning g about they won’t beat Grimsby.
