With four games played in the new season, the Conference table is starting to take shape.

With Luton Town and Forest Green Rovers, both pre-season title contenders, drawing 0-0 the two clubs are both stuck in mid-table with five points, five points adrift of the current leaders Cambridge United.

Cambridge, who are Luton`s next opponents in a full Bank Holiday Monday fixture programme, secured their status as league leaders with a 1-0 home win over Lincoln City.

Elsewhere, at the top, Kidderminster, who were so close to promotion last season sit a point behind Cambridge after a 3-1 home win over Chester.

Also on nine points are Southport, who beat us on the opening day, with the seaside outfit notching up a 2-1 home win over Gateshead.

Barnet, relegated from the Football League last season, are two points off the top after a 1-1 draw at home to Nuneaton.

The last of the play-off spots is, currently, occupied by Hereford who recorded a 1-0 home win over Tamworth.

At the bottom of the table are Aldershot, deducted 10 points before the season started, the Hampshire side are still on -6 points after fellow strugglers Salisbury beat them 1-0.

Two teams have yet to register their first points of the season Gateshead and Chester, losing to Gateshead and Kidderminster respectively, whilst the final relegation spot is occupied by Hyde who picked up a respectable 2-2 draw away to Wrexham.
