There is no beating about the bush, December, as far as the fixtures are concerned, is a tough month for the Hatters.

In the space of the next eight days, the Luton Town face:

• Brentford (a)
• Arsenal (h)
• Manchester City (h)

Although our recent form has been good, with a draw against Liverpool (h) and win against Crystal Palace (h) sandwiching a narrow loss to Manchester United (a), we are still engaged in a huge fight to stay, come next May, in the Premier League.

We may, currently be sitting just outside of the relegation places, but the situation is both complicated and muddied by the Everton saga.

Docked 10 points for financial irregularities, the Toffees, as we suspected they would, have launched an appeal.

Hopefully the outcome will be confirmed quickly, thereby ending the doubt once and for all and letting us all concentrate on the exact job in hand rather than knowing the situation could be changed at the last moment.

But, returning to those three games listed, like me I’m sure you’ll accept that getting anything from the two home games will be extremely tough, which brings me back to the game, against Brentford (a), this afternoon.

I can’t help feeling that it is a game we just have to get something from, a win would be fantastic but a point, in my view, is a minimum.
