After a poor Easter where two lacklustre performances produced two defeats, the Hatters support will be hoping things change this afternoon when Luton visit Adams Park.

Inconsistency has been the bane of our season and it has gotten to the stage where you just do not know how the Hatters will perform.

On paper, going up against the bottom club in the Championship, everything points to a Luton win, something which our poll, relating to the result, agrees with.

At the time of writing 63% are predicting a Luton win, 16% a draw and only 21% are going for a Wycombe win.

However, Gareth Ainsworth’s side will be no pushover, as Rotherham United found out at Millmoor last time out when Wycombe beat them 3-0.

With the kick-off fast approaching, we are now able to bring you the team sheets.

Starting with our hosts, Wycombe Wanderers:

Continuing with the Hatters:

As for the officials, look no further:

Referee – Oliver Langford
Assistant Referee – Steven Meredith
Assistant Referee – Graham Kane
Fourth Official – Ollie Yates

Fingers crossed Luton are on the ball today as a win would bring relief to those who think he team has gone stale since they reached the magical 50-point mark.

Hmm interesting is nj going 4-4-2 as Danny and I have said you never know now what nj is thinking

  • Alistair says:

It’ll be interesting to see if Collins & Adebayo can gel together. Think this derby is going to be an extra spicy affair given what’s on the line. COYH

  • Chris winter says:

Was never gonna be a classic was it. Homer ref as well.

  • Alan says:

Shite ref, get cornick on, pointless 4 in midfield as its being bypassed…

  • Paul says:

    Deja vu.

Same inept performance, different day. Pearson not strong enough, got caught again, Pelly, Bree, can’t make a pass. How frustrating must it be for Collins and Adabayo waiting for a decent ball.

NJ needs a blank canvas, 90% of our players are not good enough., and if he doesnt learn from this performance then its time for him to also go.

  • Chris winter says:

Second half what a change round at last we get it right against 10 men. I see the usual suspects are still moaning come on you hatters 😅

  • Alan says:

Some people chris….pell is everyone’s whipping boy, but, blah, blah, yawn, yawn……let’s enjoy it and roll on next Sat….

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Alan an mh, could have been 5 still lua lua does it again just when we need it an a header by adebayo plus a moncur special free kick. Makes you wonder with a free kick specialist why he doesn’t get more time just a thought

  • Alan says:

So paul who are the 10% who are good enough ????

  • Danny says:

well done lads, love Moncs & Lua Lua, massive respect to both of them coming back from the abyss and once again delivering when asked

    COYH

  • Alan says:

Well said Danny….strange how Paul stated 90% aren’t good enough when we sit 13th on 53 points….

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Danny an Alan, doesn’t it make you wonder last year lua lua an moncur both did the same thing scoring vital goals when most needed an saving us from religation. But struggle to gat a run of games. OK I think lua lua is only good enough as an impact sub to be honest but even so. What do they have to do to play?

    • Mad Hatter says:

Knee jerk reaction 🙂 we all suffer it sometimes

  • Alan says:

Hi Chris, it is a really strange situation. As we have all said nj see’s them day in day out….must be a reason somewhere….

  • Paul says:

Alan, sounds like your happy to bump along with the same inconsistent results.
The reason we are where we are is because the teams bellow are not very good. Don’t you want to see improvement? because with the majority of the players we have, it seems they will only perform when the management threaten them with contract renewals.
I would rather we had players that are proud to wear the shirt and give it 100%
I don’t mind losing when players perform to their potential and get beat by a better team, but there are Many players that are only seem to perform when they feel like it, and Pelly is one of them, blah, blah!
Why do we have to wait for Moncure and Lua to come on and show the rest what they should be doing from the start.
Don’t get too excited about beating the worst team in the league, when they have only 10 men and we still struggled until Moncure and LuaLua saved our blushes.
And to sum up, Nathan doesn’t even seem to know his best team, Talk about the tinker man, keep making changes and eventually he may get it right.

    • Chris winter says:

Paul you are entitled to your opinion as are we all. But the tone of your complaints suggest that you think gj was a better manager tha than nj. Yes we have struggled to be consistent and some players have not performed but with our budget we have to do the best we can. Nj has given loyalty to players who saved us last year. An I’m sure he’s identified who needs to go now. But for all the inconsistencies we have improved. An in those circumstances I feel that consistent sagging off players is pointless enjoy the rest of the season an watch the difference when the fans are back. As this I feel is the reason for all teams having weird results consistently

  • Paul says:

Chris, no I don’t think GJ was a better manager and I also don’t think NJ should be loyal to players if they are not performing.
You suggest that he picks out of form players, just because they played well last season, that would be crazy .
Maybe you have hit the nail on the head, they know they don’t have to give 100% because of NJ’s blind loyalty.

  • Chris winter says:

Hi Paul, if you look back at my posts as a regular poster on here. I said exactly the same thing as you weeks ago. He has shown to much loyalty to some. On that I agree. Also I have said that kioso should never have left on loan. With regard to the defence with lockyer out osho on loan he only has naismith Pearson Bradley to use as the others are all getting injured at 1time or another. If nj has to go because his players aren’t good enough then as mh his chief scout must go as well. Because he recommends them. But to get to the real problem you have to look at the midfield an the supply delivery to the forwards it has been woeful can’t cross can’t tackle can’t pass. But just attacking individuals is a waste of time. The problem is no fans in stadiums that’s become obvious by watching TV. Get behind the team till the end of the season an see the change of personnel. An the fans back next season

  • paul says:

Hi Chris, I remember your posts and agreed at the time, I also agree he shouldn’t have put Kioso out on loan so prematurely.
I don’t think NJ should go, I just want him to be fair with the whole squad, not just picking his favourite players week on week regardless of form.
I only attack players when I can see they are not putting in the effort or playing to their potential. when there are other squad players not given the opportunity or time.
In the interview yesterday when asked about the game changers, NJ spoke about consistency, referring to LuaLua having to add consistency to his game, how do you get consistency when not playing.
its comments like that that wind me up.
Anyway, I’m going to shut up now, I’ve had my whinge, looking forward to beating Watford next week.
    Cornick Hattrick. 🙂

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Paul, I do agree with you. But let’s hope now he gives others a chance personally I want pereira to be given a chance before the end of the season. An let’s hope we perform against the scum

  • alan says:

paul my argument yesterday was you only seem to moan, at least wait til the final whistle to whinge. i said in the week i personally would leave pelly out, i also said leave KDH out. also you did actually say NJ should go.
Many of us have all said NJ can only go with the defenders he has at present, pearson and bradley have to play cos of injuries. pearson didnt get caught out yesterday, he got taken out. if that was collo on their defender it would have been given as a foul. i think NJ and his staff already have plans in place for next season, so lets see.
i agree with you on next week, it would make my season if we can turn shiteford over.

  • Chris winter says:

Evening mh, after yesterday’s game an today’s posts. I was thinking what do we need to get in for next season to improve for me I would like a kevin Nicholls type in midfield an a Bruce rioch. An a Chris coyne Centre half along with lockyer an a big mac up front. What would you like to see. An the readers thoughts

    • Mad Hatter says:

Hi Chris, I’ll run that as an article tomorrow, having a quiet day ahead of a busy week what with Sh*tford coming up!

  • jimbo says:

we all want the impossible, every game. even man.city lose sometimes.i love seeing different opions, likes and dislikes, but ruddock just dosent do it for me. showing your age chris, rioch and supermac,my old favourites.C.O.Y.H.

    • Chris winter says:

Hi jimbo, yes I’m showing my age lol but the players I named showed something that doesn’t seem to exist anymore. An that is giving 90 full mins for the team win or die trying. Something lacking these days

  • Alan says:

Hi all, just re-read some of yesterday’s comments again and one that left me somewhat confused was from (mention no names) ” we are only 13th because teams below us are worse than us” now having watched and played football for well over 50 years that has to be one of the most stupid blatantly obvious statement I’ve ever heard….no s**t sherlock….

    • Mad Hatter says:

or as Brian Clough said when asked if Forest deserved to be relegated, he replied “the table doesn’t lie”
