Okay, perhaps the title of our article might not register on the same scale a similar question about where were you when you heard Kennedy had been shot, but it does still provide us with an interesting article.

On Tuesday night when Kidderminster beat Cambridge thereby giving us the Skrill Conference title and a place in the Football League, we`re of the understanding that John Still was watching a game elsewhere.

Still had already intimated that he would not tune into the fixture or indeed go to see it and it would appear that Still was true to his word as our reports suggest Still was taking in a League One clash between Crawley Town and Millwall and that it was a Luton legend that told Still the good news.

Apparently Mick Harford, now working for Millwall, was sitting a few yards away from Still and leant over to tell our gaffer the good news,

Commenting on the moment, Harford is quoted as having remarked,

“In my eyes it was quite a poignant moment.”

“At 2-0 I went over to him as I was walking out of the ground and told him the good news. I don`t think he believed me if I am honest. He gave me a wave but he looked chuffed.”

“I have known John for years. He is a real football man and a great choice in manager for Luton Town Football Club and he has proved that in his first full season.”

“You can`t imagine how hard it is to get out of the Football Conference and it is testament to his abilities in doing it so quickly with Luton.”

“I really want to congratulate everyone at the club. From John, to the fans and their amazing support, to the players and all the people behind the scenes at Luton Town Football Club. “

Which leads me nicely back to that original question – Where were you when you heard the news we`d finally been promoted back to the Football League?
